The School Committee believes that student activities outside of the general academic program are a vital to the overall development and well-being of our students. Therefore, the Committee endeavors to provide a broad and balanced program of opportunities geared to support the abilities, skills, and interests of our students.
In an effort to ensure that such activities can be offered, students in grades 9-12, who will participate in any extracurricular activity, excluding attendance at dances, performances, or athletic contents, will be charged an annual activity fee of $50.00 per student, per year. This is a one-time flat fee for as many extracurricular activities that a student wishes to participate in, for the corresponding academic school year.
Students who qualify for free or reduced lunch may receive a reduced Student Activity Fee of $25 for the 2012-2023 school year. Fee reduction requests may be applied for on a case by case basis and must include a complete Sharing Information With Other Programs form, which gives permission to share eligibility status in regards to the student activity fee status. For more information on the Braintree Public Schools Free & Reduced Lunch program, or to apply for Free & Reduced Lunch, please refer to the Braintree Public Schools Food & Nutrition web page.
